John Shook

One of the top two or three Lean Experts in the world, John is returning by popular request. The first American employed by Toyota in Japan, he played a key role in transferring the Toyota approach to the USA. He has great insight into the company-wide management approach, which he shares totally with his listeners. As Senior Adviser to Jim Womack's Lean Enterprise Institute in USA he introduced Value Stream Mapping to the world as co-author of "Learning to See", and played a key role in adapting the approach for use in Office and Service situations in the new training package "Mapping to See". He currently focuses on the management and leadership approaches required to truly embed Lean Thinking within an organization. John is a member of the advisory board of Lean Enterprise Australia.

John Toussaint

As President and CEO of Thedacare, a large community owned four-hospital health system in USA, John experiences the management challenges of leading any organization successfully practicing Lean Thinking, whether in the health or manufacturing or service sector, and is in demand to share his experiences at Lean conferences around the world. He modestly says "As you make one revolutionary change, you realize there are 15 more things you would like to do. We have barely scratched the surface. Bu that's what's fun; you get up in the morning and you know you can make a difference."

Dave Brunt

Dave has considerable experience to share about applying Lean Thinking in any organization that deals directly with consumers. He helped Dan Jones set up the Lean Enterprise Academy in UK. He has wide experience of applying Lean Thinking in the UK automotive sector, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, and car distribution and dealerships, including Porsche Cars Great Britain. He is co-author of the newly released "Creating Lean Dealers", a Lean Action Workbook from Lean Enterprise Academy.

Mike Varnom

Mike is Director and General Manager of Unipart Aftermarket Logistics. Dan Jones describes this operation in the following terms: “the best example of parts distribution and lean logistics worldwide outside Toyota - Unipart has done a very impressive job. Mike will be describing the challenges of developing and continually improving one of the best lean distribution systems in the world.
